In support of their current album (and novel), “Year of the Black Rainbow”, New York’s indie-prog-metal-storytellers Coheed and Cambria and British prog rock masters, Porcupine Tree, along with The Dear Hunter, will be doing a run of dates this August. The tour will include a stop at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Friday, Aug. 13.

Coheed’s spring major market tour produced 27 sellouts in 27 cities, including the 5,500 capacity Central Park outdoor stage in NYC, 4,500 tickets in Philadelphia and the 3,800 Congress Theater in Chicago. Porcupine Tree to their credit has a confirmed headline slot forthcoming at the prestigious Radio City Music Hall in New York City this Sept.

Coheed and Cambria’s “Year of the Black Rainbow” charted #5 in its first week with 51,000 sold, the band’s highest career chart position. The band released a deluxe edition of the album with a 352 page hardcover novel of the same name, penned by lead singer/guitarist Claudio Sanchez with best-selling author Peter David.
